In a niche where creatives perpetually surround creatives like the underground dance music scene in Miami, cliques of talent roam through the nightlife circuit. Weaved into it all is Miami-based DJ and producer Sam Zarif.
It’s been 10 years since Sam situated himself in Miami – 10 years since he first got into house music, and five since he got behind the decks. At first he wanted to be a rapper, though once he realized house music was “it”, he quit looking for beats to rap to, and began the search for beats to mix.
Developing his skill over the last five years, Sam has incessantly been climbing the ranks of the local artist spectrum. His ultimate goal would be to live off music – a widespread goal for the artists of this industry.
We love a DJ with some personality – Sam makes us smile with his answers to our Local Love questionnaire. Plus, he presents us with an hour of some tasty deep tech free for your listening pleasure — the first two tracks are his own original productions.
