Electronic Awakening

It’s no question there’s a spiritual element to electronic music – in may just be what has us hooked. It’s the euphoria of witnessing a fantastic sunrise with a backdrop of beats or the elation of a flawless set enjoyed amongst friends.

Filmed over five years at Burning Man, Earthdance, LoveFest, Moontribe, Wicked, Shambhala and the Boom Festival in Portugal, Electronic Awakening is an ethnographic documentary that reinforces the spirituality of electronic music linking it to ancient shamanic rituals.

Using testimonials from experts, visionaries, and published authors, the film explains the inner workings of the brain and its metaphysical connection to the repetitive beats that allow for that sense of unity and freedom that millions feel on the dancefloor.

It highlights the evolution of raves including both massive commercial events as well as smaller more intimate settings. Musically featured in the film are Shpongle, The Crystal Method, Random Rab, Phutureprimitive, Govinda, Cosmosis, Vibrasphere, Nadis Warriors and Bird of Prey.

Electronic Awakening will be screening at the O Cinema in Miami right before Winter Music Conference gets underway – March 13 at 8pm.
