I am proud to say I have danced on this dance floor a couple times. Last summer, a trip to Germany led me to the steps of Watergate in Berlin more than once. This club offers weekly lineups that rival any around the world and a vibe that only a handful can match.
The creators of the film wanted to show the history of the club through the eyes of the people that made it so fun, the artists. Testimonies come from Sven Väth, Kerri Chandler, Dixon, Soul Clap, Tiefschwarz, Ellen Allien, Solomun, Pan-Pot, Sebo K, Lee Jones, Heidi, Lee Curtiss, Marco Resmann, Catz ‘n Dogz, Ruede Hagelstein and Magda.
In the trailer, Dixon, Magda, Kerri Chandler, Lee Curtiss and Sebo K (amongst others) show their love and respect for the staple in Berlin’s club culture. The full length documentary is set to debut in Berlin on November 1st and afterwards will be part of an upcoming Watergate X Collector’s Box– cannot wait to get my hands on this.
