Fresh Fix: Heidi Presents Jackathon Jams feat. Maya Jane Coles, Miss Kitten and tINI

What Heidi has done with the Jackathon releases and parties is now a full-blown movement and sound. And could anyone think of three better girls to get on the latest Jackathon project than Maya, Miss Kitten and Loco Dice prodigy, tINI? I think not. Maya and tINI are two of the hottest commodities traveling the world today and most girls DJing today owe a little something to Miss Kitten.

Miss has paid her dues. Her career launched in the mid 90s in her home country of France and continued in Switzerland when she joined Mental Groove Records. Ever since then she has been consistently throwing down quality house and techno from the booth to the studio – 11 albums since 1998.

After last month’s release of Heidi Presents: The Jackathon Jams we got a chance to ask Miss Kitten about the project, what went into making it and working with the lovely Maya Jane Coles and tINI.

 Genre: House

Please tell us a bit about your EP production experience (i.e. inspiration; obstacles; background):

I started to try writing club tracks as a challenge. My goal is usually to write pop songs, not something clubby.
But when Heidi asked for a track, I did it in a few hours, inspired by a great moment we shared together in Miami this spring. I feel really connected with her, Maya and tINI. So this EP is important for that.
My main obstacle writing music is to be confident, to realize I am now able to write music on my own. I go in the studio when I have an idea, without any complex, and it works. When I don’t feel like it, I do something else, it always nourished my inspiration at the end.
Music is how you are: I am instinctive, I don’t try to be perfect, I am not technological either, so I do with what I have.

What is your Favorite Track of the EP?

I love them all. It’s hard to choose… Maya’s track is excellent, and tINI’s remix is very, very deep.
