Fireworks, bikinis, and house music – is there any better way to celebrate our independence? I doubt it. The Surfcomber Hotel and Go Big Productions have linked up again this year to throw one of the wildest, most untamed, can’t-believe-that-just-happened Fourth of July pool parties! With 12 hours of non-stop beats, the party boasts performances by more than ten artists including headliners Roger Sanchez, Funkagenda, Norman Doray and Wally Lopez.
We caught up with the Eighth Annual IndepenDANCE Pool Party all-stars and asked them why they think the U.S. is so great. Check out the specs below.
“As a foreigner, what do you think makes the Unites States so great?”
First and foremost, I have to state for any of the Brits reading this, I am proud to be an Englishman and it will always be the very core of my person. However, since I have moved to Los Angeles, I have to say that the quality of my life has improved tenfold. I love the drive and the passion for life that people have over here. It’s really refreshing. Although it usually gets overplayed somewhat in the movies, it makes me believe that the idea of ‘The American Dream’ is actually not that far off the mark.

I love being in the States. It’s a different form of seeing the business side of music, and also the possibilities to grow in a country this big are amazing!

The “S” man has been rocking crowds for as far back as we can remember. He is sincerely a “DJ’s DJ, and a producer’s producer” with unmatched talents that have been growing strong for more than a decade. Be sure to catch this man’s set. It will truly be unforgettable.

Last time we caught Norman Doray’s performance, it was at LIV nightclub, and let’s just say he lived up to his reputation for being known as one of dance musics best party starters. Here’s a short clip of Norman playing live as well as answering a few questions about himself.

One of the most anticipated sets comes from one of Miami’s favorite artists, Patrick M. Patrick has been gracing Miami with his signature sounds for quite some time now, slamming down a killer set at every performance. Although he’s not headlining the event, his performance is one that cannot be missed!

The Cocodrills (Christian “Pridef” Diaz, Adam Cruz) pride themselves on creating a unique musical experience, which can only be just that — experienced. But make sure to leave your pretense at the door ’cause you won’t find any bullshit at one of their parties. Only funky grooves, positive vibes and rampant debauchery.
