For seven years the duo has been promising an album, and we’ve finally got it at our fingertips. Arndt Roerig and Marko Vidovic, who go by the name of Tube & Berger, have released their debut album Introlution on their own imprint, Kittball Records.
At mybeatFix, we’ve been aware of their talent for some time now, but this album has impressed all over again. With the absolute likelihood of sounding cliché, the producer duo takes the listener on a journey through emotions – an epic one.
Introlution starts off almost like a movie soundtrack, preparing you for what’s ahead. Each track sets a different mood – one minute you’re moving to the strums of a Spanish guitar, like in “La Fogata”, and the next you’re bouncing to the sexy low-pitched vocals of “Escape From Berlin”. Mid-album, spirits lift and things get techier, every track introducing new sounds.
“Long Roads” featuring Meggy proved to be a favorite. It’s that kind of track that makes you want to change the world, or something deep and meaningful like that. “Evolution and Consciousness” gives off the same impression. Both songs feel like a monumental part of the album.
The party vibe quickly comes back with “Jam Word Up”. “Soulgood” is a mix of the best elements featured on the entire album – the groove, the guitar, the love and the party. And it just so happens that the track was the most charted track in the March Beatport charts and is on video rotation on MTV in Europe. We’ll call that the climax of the album. “Just a Ride” and “Kleines Traumparadies” beautifully bring the album to a close.
We got in touch with Tube & Berger to find out more about their production experience with the album. Preview the album and read what they had to say below. Click here to buy the album on Beatport!
Album Name: Introlution
Artist: Tube & Berger
Record Label: Kittball Records
Release date: June 2012
Genre(s): Tech house, deep house and house
Maybe you can describe our music as organic deep/tech house with a slice of sixties music flavor and a positive vibe in it. But words are meaningless, aren’t they?
Concept or theme behind EP: Introlution is a sophisticated and well constructed body of work displaying an innate ability to convey mood, great vocals and plenty of emotion. This is more than just a collection of club tracks, designed to transfer to a variety of settings.
There are club tracks on it for sure but we wanted it to “work” in the car, while you’re chilling or while you have sexy time. And we have to tell you: It works!
Album production experience: After eight years of DJing and producing, we finally made it. The funny thing is that since 2005, we’ve been saying there will be an album soon. More and more people started wondering when this album will be out. Some things just take time and after finishing Introlution, we were finally satisfied.
There will be one single release of “Slipknot” featuring Robert Owens with remixes by Pleasurekraft (Suara), Basti Grub (Desolat), Dirty Doering (Bar 25) and our friend and label co-owner Juliet Sikora. And we plan a great package of Introlution – The Remixes for the end of this year.
Favorite Track of the Album: We don´t really have a favorite song, cause there are a lot of different moods on it and we see it as a complete artwork. But if we had to name one single, we would choose maybe “Come Together” which is a dancefloor smasher, or “Slipknot” with its great vocals of Robert Owens and a dark mysterious vibe. Or maybe “Long Roads” featuring Meggy, which is kind of a deep house ballad.
