His first release is a hard act to follow – “Let It Ride” which crept at the top of Beatport’s deep house chart for weeks. But Hot Since 82’s Hurt You EP pleases the ears on all levels – from the funky basslines to the sporadic mallet sounds. The EP was released digitally on the new London-based record label Moda Black run by the duo Jaymo & Andy George.
“Hurt You” provides us with that same bounce in the bassline that was felt in Let It Ride. “Sundown” is a bit darker, making the name incredibly appropriate. The synths will get you dreaming about a distant land – or party. We like it that way.
