It’s the end of an era! Well, not exactly, but it does feel that way for many of us New York techno-folk. The beginning of 2012 saw the end of one of NYC’s hidden gems — a sketchy basement in the Hudson Hotel which we all grew to love. That’s right, I’m talking about Good Units. The enormous underground club with bouncers that minded their own business and party-goers that boogied ’til the wee hours of the morning — without having to go to Brooklyn.
Verboten, a frequent host of Good Units parties, took on the task of throwing the venue its last hoorah with none other than Hot Natured’s leading lads, Jamie Jones and Lee Foss. Needless to say, it was one spectacular closing party. Checkout the recap video they put together. It portrays the essence of the night to a T!
Although there were complaints about Good Units at times, the amount of fun had there outweighed them by a ton. I know I speak for many New Yorkers when I say that there will be a void in our hearts that only it can fill. mybeatFix tips their hat to Jamie, Lee and of course Verboten, for giving Good Units a proper farewell.
