Eyes closed and I could’ve guessed that Pleasurekraft was behind The Main Ingredient EP at first listen. The original track has got their signature voice encoder, the familiar bouncing bassline and a well-picked vocal sample that brings it all together. The duo has come a long way since their breakthrough track in 2010, “Tarantula”, consistently releasing impressive productions and establishing a unique sound.
The mybeatFix team was stoked to hear that that one of our favorite Miami locals Jesse Perez would have the opportunity to remix the track. In the same way the Pleasurekraft sound was apparent in the original, Jesse’s style unmistakably shines through in the remix. He slows the track down, extends the bassline, and adds those Miami 90s ass-clappin’ 808 sounds we know him so well for – not to mention the record scratching that just screams Jesse.
Pleasurekraft has been supporting Mr. Nice Guy, Jesse’s label, since its first releases — charting its tracks and leaving feedback. The duo approached Jesse about a remix for “The Main Ingredient” and said he was the perfect candidate for the job.
“Once I heard the original parts, I was like, ‘Fa sho’. I can make something grimey out of this!” Jesse explained to us.
With such an excellent remix job, we’re waiting for a collaboration between the three – Kaveh and Kalle of Pleasurekraft, and our friend Jesse Perez.
Pleasurekraft is heading to LIV Miami Nov. 17 as special guests for headliner Sander Kleinenberg, and you can catch Jesse this Thursday at Electric Pickle opening for Oliver $ at an event hosted by mybeatFix!
