Any Floridians who have yet to see Diplo perform live are certainly in luck this week. And, if you’re an electronic music fan and you don’t know who Diplo is, you obviously live under a rock.
The DJ, producer, song writer, ridiculous tweeter, [insert one of several other titles Diplo holds here], is one of the most successful artists in his industry. Since being recognized for his first album as Diplo by Britain’s own M.I.A., the DJ’s career has reached some serious heights. As founder of Mad Decent, which supports several genres of music including moobahton, dubstep, and dancehall, Diplo has experience producing a wide variety of genres and has worked with an almost endless list of artists.
Whether you know him as Thomas Wesley Pentz, Diplo, Diplodocus, or half of Major Lazer, what’s important is that you know he puts on a wild performance. Having been to several of his shows, I can promise all his stops here in Florida will be a crazy mess of fun. You can find Mr. Mad Decent himself this Wednesday at LIV on Miami Beach, then in Gainesville at The Vault on Thursday, and finally at Rivalry Music Festival in Tallahassee on Friday.
