Your single “Alive” with Dirty South ft. Kate Elsworth has been climbing the Beatport progressive house chart and peaked at No. 2. What inspired this track? And what was it like collaborating with Dirty South?
It was great to work with Dirty South as I’m a big fan of all his productions so being in the studio with him making a track together was a great experience – plus we had lots of fun! We started the track with a rough version of the vocal he had recorded with Kate. As I loved the vocal, it was easy to find some basic sounds and groove ideas, which I sent across to him. After this we met in his studio in Los Angeles and spent four days and nights working on the track – we actually finished it there!
Are there any new tracks or collaborations you’re working on right now?
There is a track I did with Kim Fai which will be out on Size soon, I am also currently working on two more collabs which I’m excited about. I’ll keep you posted!
You have been headlining events with Swedish House Mafia members all over the world. What can you tell us about these parties and working with the infamous trio?
These events are always great. The vibe is incredible and there is so much energy in the crowd. It is pure fun to play! It’s exciting to see the guys doing their thing. They know how to get the crowds going crazy!
What do you expect from your next show in Miami: Size Matters at the Fontainebleau Ocean Lawn?
I’m quite excited about that. There is a huge hype on twitter and Facebook. It seems people are really looking forward to the party and so am I! It’s my first daytime party for Size Matters and I will definitely prepare a special set for this occasion!
What would you say has been your best or most memorable performance this summer?
After playing the main stage at EDC in Las Vegas, I must say that my gig at Pacha Ibiza with the Swedish House Mafia at their Masquerade Motel party was one of the best gigs I’ve ever had! I’ve loved Pacha ever since I went to the Island the first time. I always dreamed about playing there and now it’s happened! It was so exciting to play. The vibe at Pacha is always special, but this Monday was just insane!
Miami brings together all the great DJs every year. What about Miami do you think makes it such a great environment for house music?
I think it is the combination of the city, the beach feeling, nice weather and of course the absolutely great venues and clubs they have. Be it at night or all those daytime pool parties, I think that the clubs put a lot of effort into making the house scene somewhat special. And the Miami crowd really knows how to party!!
What do you have lined up for fall?
After the summer festival seasons, I will be happy to be able to spend a bit more time in my studio making music! So besides my DJ gigs, I have those collabs, which I will focus on, and I’m looking forward to working on my own new tracks.
