I’m always pleasantly surprised when an opener impresses me as much as the headlining DJ, and that was certainly the case on a night back in November when Adrian Villaverde opened for Wolfgang Gartner. It was his best party of 2010, he said.
The Puerto Rican DJ, now living in Miami, has been spinning for about 10 years and producing for four. Teaming up with Christian Falero, Adrian Villaverde produced “Put ‘Em High,” a big-room progressive house track that reached No. 7 on Beatport’s progressive chart and has been recognized by huge names in the industry like Erick Morillo, Roger Sanchez and Steve Angello.
Adrian has made his made rounds on this side of the Atlantic, and hopes to cross over to the European scene this summer. Though he frequents local spots in Miami like Space, Nikki Beach and MIA, where he has a residency, he often returns to Puerto Rico to play, as well as other countries south of our border including Nicaragua, where he just traveled to for a two-week tour.
Whether you’re in the Miami area and have the chance to see Adrian live, or you check out his tracks on Beatport, make sure to keep Adrian Villaverde on your radar.
